For Times When You Go From 100-0 And You Can't Explain It.

This post title is quite a mouthful simply because I couldn't find something else to describe how I felt the day I wrote this. I've been in this situation more times than I can remember. It's always exhausting and annoying. I'll be gay, exuberant and then SNAP! I'm feeling down, irritated at nothing in particular and the rest of the day becomes gloomy. No, it ain't mood swing . Or is it? The most annoying thing about this predicament is when people start asking what's wrong and I can't come up with something genuine. The occurrence that prompted this post was the most 'interesting' one ever. Here's the detail. I was having an almost perfect day doing few things online that required me to write a little something about myself. I included "I'm a PhlegMel(Yes, I believe in temperaments)" after 're-looking' up the words in the dictionary to make sure they suited me. As I was to discover later that day, that was a wro...

The Other Side of Midnight

I really don't know why I came up with that topic. Well, it's the title of a Sidney Sheldon novel and it's midnight so why not? I talked about a Sidney Sheldon novel HERE No classes today so I'm curled up in my bed, trying hard to ignore the incessant chirping of the crickets in my room and the loud music from the other room, battling with a crazy network and wondering - Why Network can't be perfect everywhere. Seriously, I'm tired of having to wait for about 5mins to get a page to load. You don't want to know how long it took me to post this. - Why I keep letting it get to me - Whyy anyone would be playing music loudly by this time of the night. - Why I sometimes allow myself to be crippled by fear - Why someone would say it's his destiny to rob. Yes, I just saw it on Twitter - @l_laitan. No, I'm not judging. - Why we sometimes let stereotypes disturb us and hurt our feelings. - Why Darey has such a sweet singing voice - What the answer...

Life|Hello July.

Happy New Month beautiful people. I'm sorry I couldn't come up with a better topic. Oh boy, time really waits for no man. We're already in the second half of the year. There's just this aura about July. I think it has to do with the fact that it's the 7th month and that makes it a perfect one. It's the 4th day, it's been good and definitely going to get better. Lately, I've been feeling uninspired. I just keep on checking my blog as though I expect a miraculous post to pop up. I've not been writing and digging up a blog post from my draft didn't tickle my fancy. I just started blogging a few months back and it's not legal to be feeling this way but here am I. You can read my first blog post HERE . Writing this is just therapeutic for me as I've been having too many conversations in my head. Anyway, I'm going to be sharing lessons I've learnt and relearnt over the past few weeks and also what I've been up to. - I've...

The Liebster Blog Award. (Get to know me more)

Hey guys Long time no post yeah? I know, right. That was the same thing I said to myself a day before. I didn't expect that to change as I have my neck deep in exams and I'm currently a convalescent. I just checked my mail and to my amazement, I realised that Tobi of journalthreesixty nominated me for the Liebster Award. I've always seen the Liebster Award thingy on blogs even before I started blogging but I didn't expect to join in on the fun so fast. Thanks Tobi 💋 The rules of the Award are quite simple. All that has to be done is – Thank the blogger who nominated you. – Display the Liebster Badge on your site. – Answer the questions that were sent. – Choose 5 (to 11) blogs to nominate. – Send 10 questions for your nominees to answer. 1. Why did you start blogging? I started blogging because I wanted a space to share my musings, findings and also to inspire others. Also because I needed a healthy distraction from school work. 2. Apart from bloggi...

Tracy Whitney : If Tomorrow Comes

If you've read about me , you'd know I love to read almost anything. I'm not a bibliophile tho. I'm getting there. I just enjoy being lost in a book and tasking my brain trying to get the perfect picture the writer is trying to create. I'll never understand why I quickly and deeply fall in love with fictional characters. All it just takes is for us to have something in common or for me to have gone through a similar struggle he/she is going through. Sidney Sheldon's If Tomorrow Comes is a very special book to me because it's like the first ever novel I'd read on my phone. I used to be a sucker for hard copies but now, anything goes. Photo Credit: Google Introduction aside, let me go to the reason this post is up. Tracy Amazing Whitney! She's one of those characters you just find yourself rooting for whether they're doing good or bad. In this case, Tracy was a good girl turned bad. You know the 'When life gives you lemon, make lemonades...

Before you rub that itchy eye!

Ever felt an itchy sensation around your eye and your very first impulse was to scratch it and soothe yourself? Yes, I believe is your answer. You actually don't rub your eye just when it itches you. It could be when you wake up, when you're anxious or stressed or when an eyelash or two enters your eye. I'm guilty of this and writing this has helped me reduce and who knows what posting would do? Why shouldn't you rub your eye? A research optometrist says studies show that rubbing causes our eye pressure to rise. A light rub doubles it while a thorough and harsh rub causes it to rise 20 times its original pressure. The reaction to rubbing of eyes varies with individuals. For someone with Myopia (Short Sightedness) who already has a very long and weak retina, rubbing it only makes it weaker. The cornea then gets damaged and in rare cases can tear up causing significant loss of sight. When you sleep, your brain loses connection to your eye which explains w...
