Life Lately

This morning I was pretty sure I wouldn't publish a post this week talk less of today simply because I don't feel like publishing any of the posts I have drafted but then, here I am. I guess I'm less of a planner and more of a spontaneous person and not exactly in between as I mentioned in this POST.  So basically, I've been writing exams for like forever and it's like it doesn't want to end. Here's what I've been up to..

One of those exam days

1. A Gratitude Challenge  : Talked all about it in this post. Honestly, there are some days when I'm already shutting my eyes and I remember I haven't filled in my entry for the day, I just force my eyes open. It's very easy to forget really but I've been making a conscious effort not to miss it.

2. Exams - I have just one left. Yaay. I would have finished today but life happened and there was a public holiday on Monday so the exam for that day was shifted to next week. It's been fine and interesting too. I'm going to be a semi-finalist. I'm lowkey indifferent but grateful regardless.

3. Movies - I've been seeing more movies. It's really surprising because I used to be a proud member of the sleep gang when there's nothing to do. I've been using movies to just chill out. My new favourite movie is Real Steel. It has been Zootopia for some weeks now as I mentioned in this post where I shared My favourite movies of all time  but now Real Steel has my heart. It's so cool that I've already watched it like thrice. I guess it's because it's action. Pretty dope.

4. Thinking  - Yeah, about how much I want to be productive during the coming 3 months holiday and what I'd do to achieve that. Also, thinking about how to blog better. I'm also considering what to try this Christmas. Last year was Chocolate cake or so. This year, maybe Chicken pies!

5. Book Club - I finally joined one. A book per week. I want to widen my reading horizon. Knowledge is potential power. Hehe. I talked about some books I love in This post and in this

That's what I've been up to this last week. Not much but it's been fun. It doesn't feel like Christmas over here but then maybe it's expected.
What have you been up to?
Do you feel any Christmassy?
What are your plans for Christmas?
I'd like to hear from you. Kindly leave me your thoughts.

  5. Congrats my Semifinalist student... HopHope you are writing well?

Being spontaneous is good but not thinking of posting at least one post as a blogger in a week is ''zanzaerous''... Let me use my two year old nieces word.

All the best and nice post.

This thing called Fashion

I've read more than enough articles, posts, whatever and I'm still yet to come up with the word. The one defining my personal style. Simple & Conservative keeps popping up but sounds too cliché so nayyy. I'm naturally not fashion oriented . Yes , I said it. It's not a problem, never has been ; to me anyway. When I hear about how some babes spend virtually all they have just so they update their wardrobe and how they can't control it ehn, I get really thankful for how simple that part of my life is but sometimes I just want to go out of my comfort zone and take risks. Fashion risks. Imagine writing on Fashion risks worth taking and you're just there in shell, scared of venturing out. Because I was trying to adjust my hair and the sweetheart snapping me said pauseee. I can't just keep up with the constant need to make up outfit ideas. Some days, I see people, pictures and I'm just like hey, I should try that, just go for this colour instead ...

For Times When You Go From 100-0 And You Can't Explain It.

This post title is quite a mouthful simply because I couldn't find something else to describe how I felt the day I wrote this. I've been in this situation more times than I can remember. It's always exhausting and annoying. I'll be gay, exuberant and then SNAP! I'm feeling down, irritated at nothing in particular and the rest of the day becomes gloomy. No, it ain't mood swing . Or is it? The most annoying thing about this predicament is when people start asking what's wrong and I can't come up with something genuine. The occurrence that prompted this post was the most 'interesting' one ever. Here's the detail. I was having an almost perfect day doing few things online that required me to write a little something about myself. I included "I'm a PhlegMel(Yes, I believe in temperaments)" after 're-looking' up the words in the dictionary to make sure they suited me. As I was to discover later that day, that was a wro...

The Packing Series: Books

As I'm rounding off my undergraduate study, one thing I'm definitely not looking forward to is having to pack my stuff back home. I honestly don't know which I dread more, whether packing or unpacking but I sure do not enjoy either activity. I defended my final year project yesterday. See photos on my Instagram and the single most important thing I had to do next was to start packing. I decided to take it a day at a time and also start out simple. I started with books.  Packing my books wasn't as simple as you might imagine it would be because I get attached to things a lot. For example, I still have notes from my first year for reasons I can't explain (oh, I just explained it- attachment) and I didn't end up disposing many of my other books even after giving myself the pep talk on how taking 'garbage' back home is counterproductive. The aim is to keep my load as minimal as possible but with the way I still held on to class notes and jotters alik...
