4 Style Bloggers: On basic styling tips for short dresses

This is a very special post because it's the closest I can get to having something fashion related on the blog. At least for now till I finally adjust to my new timetable. I always think of short dresses/skirts as a 'heys' dress - heys being the legit sound Nigerian men use to catcall-. I'd define a 'heys' dress for you right about now. That dress that basically gets you heys both with the mouth and the eyes. I don't know which is worse by the way. I think it has to be the former. I mean, every other person around gets to hear the heys and add to your embarrassment. What inspired this post? Well, obviously I was wearing a heys dress and even though I could have changed before leaving home, there was no time because well I finished late and I also wasn't ready to disrupt the 'timetable' for the week. . I also remembered this popular tweet about how girls would wear short dresses and start pulling it down like we didn't know it was short b...

10 Reasons You Might Be Breaking Out.

When I wrote this post for Kamdora.com   HERE , I didn't think I'd be publishing it on my blog so soon because well as I said in this POST , I finally developed skincare routine. Life happened, I got lazy and I suddenly woke up to massive break out one fateful day. It wasn't exactly that time of the month thingy. This selfie does no justice, actually but you can still see the 'bumps' without zooming.   It's just my punishment for being frugal with my face cleanser because it became more expensive and many other skincare routine mistakes I've been making. So, if you've been cleansing, exfoliating and all and still breaking out, this post is for you (us). Let's dig in 1. You carry out your routine without washing your hands first. This is a No, No. From touching your cellphone to your doorknob and all those fomites, your hand carries numerous bacteria so just make sure you wash your hands first before washing your face.  2.  Your hand is ...

This thing called Fashion

I've read more than enough articles, posts, whatever and I'm still yet to come up with the word. The one defining my personal style. Simple & Conservative keeps popping up but sounds too cliché so nayyy. I'm naturally not fashion oriented . Yes , I said it. It's not a problem, never has been ; to me anyway. When I hear about how some babes spend virtually all they have just so they update their wardrobe and how they can't control it ehn, I get really thankful for how simple that part of my life is but sometimes I just want to go out of my comfort zone and take risks. Fashion risks. Imagine writing on Fashion risks worth taking and you're just there in shell, scared of venturing out. Because I was trying to adjust my hair and the sweetheart snapping me said pauseee. I can't just keep up with the constant need to make up outfit ideas. Some days, I see people, pictures and I'm just like hey, I should try that, just go for this colour instead ...

For Times When You Go From 100-0 And You Can't Explain It.

This post title is quite a mouthful simply because I couldn't find something else to describe how I felt the day I wrote this. I've been in this situation more times than I can remember. It's always exhausting and annoying. I'll be gay, exuberant and then SNAP! I'm feeling down, irritated at nothing in particular and the rest of the day becomes gloomy. No, it ain't mood swing . Or is it? The most annoying thing about this predicament is when people start asking what's wrong and I can't come up with something genuine. The occurrence that prompted this post was the most 'interesting' one ever. Here's the detail. I was having an almost perfect day doing few things online that required me to write a little something about myself. I included "I'm a PhlegMel(Yes, I believe in temperaments)" after 're-looking' up the words in the dictionary to make sure they suited me. As I was to discover later that day, that was a wro...

Beauty Hacks You Want To Know

My foray into the world of hacking started late last year when I saw a beauty hack somewhere online, tried it and it worked. I was astonished and I decided to find out others. Getting more for less in the Beauty department can give you one tingly feeling and you just want to go on and on with experimenting. Read these beauty hacks I can bet you never knew of and GLOWW. - Go natural with your makeup remover by using coconut oil/vaseline. This one is the truth. It works even for those stubborn matte lipsticks. It will not only remove your makeup, it would also moisturise your skin leaving it supple and smooth. -There's this colour in your eyeshadow palette you'd rather have on your nails? Just crush it, mix with clear nail polish and voila! No expenses incurred, you just got yourself a unique nail colour. - All that lipstick in and you still aren't doing anything to eliminate dead cells? Give yourself that cute pinky pout by exfoliating either with a soft toothbrush or...

BirthDay!

_Define Birthday? "The one and only day in your life when you were crying and your mother was laughing"_. Seriously? Lol. I don't agree totally but I just felt like sharing. This week went by really fast. I can't believe it's Thursday already. It was my birthday on Monday and while I'm exceptionally grateful to God for bringing me this far and for keeping me, I'm not in a birthday mood. This is not even about outgrowing the special birthday feeling because I'm still a small girl. Yay! to that. I was chatting with my friend Dami last week and she asked the usual question "Where's the turn up at?" I told her there wasn't going to be any turn up and that I was just going to attend my class for the day, go home and then stay indoors for the rest of the day even though my plans changed later on. I then whined about it being a boring life and my babe was like it's a stress free life not a boring one. Funny as it may sound, it made ...

Fashion

Fashion, Fashion, Fashion. To be honest, I'm no fashion enthusiast. In fact, fashion is like the least thing I'm passionate about but I do admire those who are fashionable and for me, the next attractive thing about a person after their self-confidence and intelligence is their dress sense. I'm not exactly sure how it's going to be like but this page is basically going to be outfits that make my jaw drop, my fashion crushes and all things fashion /style/beauty. I'll muse on this "Don't let what you can't do stop you from doing what you can do " and make the best of this page. Hopefully, you'll be here with me to witness anyhow it goes.
